I was invited to come down to Yallingup’s very own Solitaire Homstead to photograph the Wedding Day Flair styled shoot. I had already planned a short stay in Denmark in the days after, so I thought, rather than heading home after the shoot, I would spend some quality time in Yallingup and why not at the stunning venue that we were shooting at!!Kelly the owner was wonderful to deal with, very easy going and super helpful with every request! and I felt like we knew each other before we met!
When I arrived here I was so overwhelmed with the great space and vibe … you really do feel like you have arrived somewhere that is good for the soul!
EVERY place we shot at, whether that be in the house, or on the property was breathtaking!! A photographers dream! From the stunning light accross the valley, the sweeping landscapes, the lifestock calmly walking by, it was all pretty magical. I loved cruising around the property on the back of the ute with the rest of the crew from the day, it was one of those “life is good” moments for me. Laughing and just enjoying the view.
Myself, my best friend Jade and Tanya, one of the models from the shoot stayed after everyone left. We cracked a bottle of wine and spent the night chatting. Kelly came over for a chat and helped to light the fire! Along with her came one of her dogs, who decided to spend the night with usWhich I loved … as I am a crazy dog lady hehe!Whats better than a night chatting by the fire with a dog curled up at your feet
Tanya went back to Perth in the morning, and Jade and I spent the day in Dunsborough, checking out the sights. We grabbed some DVDs from the local hire place, some grocceries and wine and headed back to the accomodation for a super relaxing afternoon. We came back to some fresh marron in a chiller on the doorstep!! Super exciting! Yummy Yummy! (if in season, you should ask the owners and they can sell you some! GREAT option)
If you were to ask what my favourite part of my stay at Yallingups Solitaire Homestead it would have to be that evening! Jade and I filled some plastic cups with wine, chucked our sunglasses on and headed out into the sunset. We walked the property for hours, taking photos, laughing and just enjoying the peace and quiet of the property! Doing things like this is a MUST! It is so good for the soul! After we worked up an appetite we headed back for a feast of BBQ’d marron, movies and a GREAT nights sleep … ahhh Bliss!!
I definitely recommend booking Solitaire Homestead. It’s a great place to just breath, refresh and cleanse your mind of all the day to day stresses. A cup of tea on the porch listening to the birds in the morning is enough to make anyone happy
